How to delete your account from ProtonMail

Before proceeding, ensure you have access to your ProtonMail account and any associated recovery methods (e.g., recovery email or phone number).

Steps to delete your account

1. Login to your ProtonMail account:

   • Open your web browser and go to ProtonMail.
   • Enter your email address and password to log in.

2. Access account settings:

   • Once logged in, click on your name or the user icon in the top right corner of the screen.
   • From the dropdown menu, select "Settings."

3. Navigate to the account section:

   • In the left-hand sidebar, click on "Account."

4. Delete your account:

   • Scroll down to the bottom of the "Account" page.
   • You will see an option labeled "Delete your account."
   • Click on the "Delete your account" button.

5. Confirm account deletion:

   • A confirmation window will appear. ProtonMail will inform you that this action is irreversible and all your data will be permanently deleted.
   • Enter your account password to confirm the deletion.
   • Click on the "Delete" button to finalize the process.

• Irreversible Action: Deleting your ProtonMail account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your emails, contacts, and other data will be permanently deleted.
